Looking for a less invasive alternative to traditional facelifts? Lifts with collagen threads are designed for people experiencing early signs of aging. Thread lifting works by attaching threads to the skin tissue. These threads are then pulled back to lift the face and smoothen it. Most patients remain conscious during the full 60 minute procedure and can see the results right away. Sagging skin will look tighter and rejuvenated. The threads are then knotted and will become hidden within the skin. Scarring may be seen during the procedure but will disappear within a few days. Another variation of the threads can be created using a mesh pattern similar to a # symbol. The skin will build new collagen around the mesh. The technique used will vary based on the unique features of the patient’s face and by recommendation of the doctor carrying out the procedure.
What does Thread Lifting treat?
- Previous Face Lift Wearing Off.
- Sagging and Laxity of Skin Around the Cheeks, Brows, Neck, Eye, and Commonly the Jowl Area.
- Weak Facial Muscles or Collagen Loss.
- Aging and the Appearance of Wrinkles.
What is the Average Amount of Collagen Threads Used Per Treatment?
The average client uses 6 threads to treat multiple areas but we recommend a full consultation for your treatment plan. Desired goals will vary and may require more or less threads.
Can I Get Threadlifting Done with Other Treatments?
All threads can be used with other treatment options. Often patients will get dermal fillers coupled with a thread lift. Our patients enjoy radio frequency with microneedling facial near Joliet coupled with threads for superior skin tightening results.
Who is Thread Lifting For?
Patients between 30 to 60 years of age are optimal candidates for thread lifting. Sagging of the skin often begins in our early 30s leaving neck and facial volume loss. Patients with excessive drooping skin may need alternative treatments. Minimal signs of aging would be ideal for getting a thread lift done as the risk for scarring diminishes. The more intense the procedure, the more likely small scars can form although they are rare.
How Long Will Results Last?
The lasting effect of results depends entirely on how the collagen of your skin reacts to the structure. Patients can expect to see their results last up to six months. Dream Med Spa recommends you use our skin care products post treatment to prolong the results. Additional treatments such as LaseMd Collagen resurfacing or Microneedling with RF can also make the effects of thread lifting last much longer.
How Long is the Down Time?
We recommend that patients limit activity 1 to 3 days post collagen threads treatment. This includes no excessive sweating, wearing make, tanning etc. The patient should fully heal from the treatment 1 to 2 weeks following their treatment.
