Bellafill is a FDA approved long lasting dermal filler. In fact, Bellaflil is considered to be the only permanent filler. Many patients like this aspect because it means both less visits and treatments needed. Bellafill works to improve the appearance of wrinkles and correct facial contours to reverse aging with a more youthful appearance. Bellafil can also treat acne scars in people older than 21. The areas most often treated include the cheeks, nose, lips, chin, and mouth area.
The procedure time can range from 15 minutes to 60 minutes. Bellafill is a collagen base and polymethyl methacrylate microspheres (PMMA). When Bellafil is injected, the body absorbs the collagen and microspheres to remain in place. It works to provide continued support after the collagen has been absorbed and the body will replace this with its own collagen. The results of Bellafill injected can be seen almost immediately after treatment. The best part about Bellafill is that it lasts 5 years!
What to Expect?
After all contraindications are ruled out, our Physician will prepare the face to be treated by marking the area to be injected. The pain from injection is minimal because a small amount of lidocaine is present in the syringe. Some patients choose to have numbing cream as well if they are worried about the pain.
What Can I Get Treated with Bellafill?
Correct bags under the eyes
Contour the chin and cheeks
Deep facial lines and wrinkles
What to Expect After A Bellafill Treatment?
You may return to normal activities immediately after your treatment. Any side effects such as swelling or bruising should disappear after a week post treatment.
What is The Difference Between Bellafill and Juvederm?
The main difference between the two is the ingredients used. Bellafill contains both natural and synthetic materials. The bovine collagen gets absorbed by the body and the PMMA microspheres stimulate the body to produce more collagen. The benefit of this is a 5 year long lasting result.
Juvederm contains the ingredient hyaluronic acid (HA). Hyaluronic acid is both naturally occurring in the body and the purpose of it is to retain water. Hyaluronic acid is absorbed through the body which is why the filler only lasts 6 to 18 months.
Can Everybody Get Bellafill?
Some Patients can be allergic to bovine collagen. Some medications may be contraindicating as well. This is why we request an entire medical history form for our physician to look over.
