Lip Enhancement
Why Lip Enhancement?
Hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the human body, like collagen is one of the most common filler materials used in lip injections. Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that helps volumize and enhance your lips with an injectable filler. Dermal filler is great for adding natural-looking volume, some plumper fullness, and/or evening out your lip shape.
What are the before steps for lip filler?
There are things you’ll want to avoid for a couple days prior to getting lip fillers. These include anticoagulants such as aspirin, alcohol, blood thinners, fish oil and multivitamins.
Are lip fillers painful?
During your treatment numbing cream is applied, but you’ll feel a little prick and slight pressure like you would a regular shot.
What is the downtime?
Expect to see a bit of swelling and bruising for about a week.
What to avoid after Lip fillers?
- Avoid excessive or very strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid drinking out of the straw for a couple of days after treatment.
- Use an ice pack on your lips.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Use Arnica gel to help with swelling and bruising.
- Avoid sleeping face down for a couple of days.
How long is the procedure?
Lip fillers usually take around 45 minutes.
How long will the results last?
On most patients lip fillers last from 9 months up to a year.
Lip Flip
What is a lip flip?
A lip flip is a nonsurgical method of creating a fuller lip. A doctor injects botox into the upper lip to create an illusion of a larger lip. It relaxes the muscles above the lip, resulting in the upper lip “flipping” slightly upward. Although the procedure makes the lip look more prominent, it does not increase the size of the lip itself.

- Use Arnica gel to help with swelling and bruising.
- Avoid sleeping face down for a couple of days.
When to expect results?
Results appear over a few days. During this time muscle relaxes, which allows the upper lip to lift and “flip.” People should see the full results about a week after treatment.
Are lip flips painful?
During your treatment numbing cream is applied, but you’ll feel a little prick and slight pressure like you would a regular shot.
How long is the procedure?
Lip flips usually take around 15-20 minutes.
How long do the results last?
On most patients lip flips last from 4-6 months
What is the difference between Lip Enhancement with dermal filler vs. Lip Flip?
While dermal fillers increase lip size, a lip flip only creates the illusion of a larger lip without adding volume.
Lip flips are less invasive and expensive than dermal fillers. However, they have a shorter effect than dermal fillers.
Another difference is that it takes up to a week to see lip flip results, while dermal fillers show immediate results.
